Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams, possibly the most famous American photographer, worked primarily in black and white. He pulled you into the picture with the incredible contrast in black, white and grays. He was born on February 20, 1902 is San Francisco, California. As a child, Ansel was very hyperactive and often got in trouble. Dismissed from several schools for bad behavior, he was educated by private tutors and members of his family from the age of 12. Adams taught himself to play the piano, which soon became his passion. In 1916, following a trip to Yosemite National Park, he began experimenting with photography. He learned darkroom techniques and read photography magazines, attended camera club meetings, and went to photography and art exhibits. He developed and sold his early photographs at Best’s Studio in Yosemite Valley. This soon became a second and true passion.

Panoramic Examples

Nature displays a lot of beauty and a vast range of colors and textures. My favorite texture in seen in nature occurs with water, especially when it's slightly breezy and it produces a smooth, but indented texture like in the first photo. In the second photo, I chose for its gracefulness and for its contrast. The desert-dry bottom versus the cold, cloudy mountains looming overhead. My favorite part of the bottom picture is the brightly colored pool of water. It looks out of place, but adds so much to the photo.

Found Face Story

Hey, I'm Herald and I love the greenhouse! It's like a home for me. I have a lot of friends and family including my four brothers, Russell, Timothy, Arnold, Phil and my mom. However, we seem to never do anything but lay around. Not like I'm complaining! I love to lay around; It's one of my favorite pass-times. I'm really strong, tough as nails (or maybe stone), and really good at holding a lot of weight up for super long periods of time. When I was a young pebble, I dreamed of being an astronaut, unfortunately they only bring rocks back from the moon and space. I'm currently unemployed, but work seems to pick up in the spring as more and more happens in the greenhouse, but It seems to stop suddenly during the summer. I enjoy dancing in the rain when I have nothing to do. I love my current job, though I'll never be able to do my dream job.
